The story begins when Robert, a schoolteacher, meets with his fellow teacher, Angelica, in a secret hotel room in Chinatown to have an affair. Angelica is married with children, but her husband is out of town and so this gives her the chance to have intense sex with her lover, Robert. When Robert returns home after his tryst, his daughter Elis asks if he has been out with Angelica, suspecting that he has. He denies it but she isn't convinced. He goes to bed and looks at the photo of happier times of him, Elis and his wife. Robert's wife is deceased. Feeling lonely, he began an affair with his co-worker, Angelica. The next day during class, his gorgeous blonde student Kara stares at him longingly in class. After school he tells Angelica that he doesn't want to meet with her that night. He is feeling sad and guilty about the affair, and also realizes that his daughter suspects they are together. On the way to his car, he meets Kara who has missed her bus ride home and asks him for a lift home. He takes her home and while her parents are out working. They talk and she tells Robert that she is home alone most of the time, and always on every Wednesday. She makes him a coffee. He begins to fantasize about Kara, and offers to take her home every Wednesday.

A week later, Kara and Elis go to club. Elis reveals that she is about to turn 18 and is so horny, she is determined to lose her virginity as soon as she turns 18. Kara, who is already 18 and left behind a year in school, says that she is still a virgin. Kara enjoys a dance with a stranger at the club. The next day in Robert's office, she turns in her paper but it has too many mistakes to pass. She is in danger of being left behind again in school. He offers to give her more time, understanding that her home life is in chaos. They have an intimate, personal discussion. She begins calling him by his first name.

Elis has her 18th birthday. She tells Kara in private that she has found the boy to break her hymen and de-virginize her, a boy in her class named Gary.
