東京で夢破れ実家に帰ってきた男が、10年ぶりに故郷の女友達と再会する。
彼らは協力して、10年間放置した男のモペット(エンジンの付いた自転車)を直そうとするのだが……
女は結婚していたのだ、別の男と。

遂にエンジンが回ったモペット。しかし後輪を支えるパーツが過去の事故(一巻参照)により歪んでいて後輪が回らない。
二人は協力してパーツを曲げ伸ばそうとするのだが……

直したいのか?　修理ごっこがしたいのか?　二人の想いは交錯する。
後輪が回る時、男の傍らに女はいない……
